Fizza Maqsood’s Human Rights Fellowship Community Engagement

As part of the Asma Jahangir Human Rights Fellowship Program, Fizza Maqsood, a fellowship participant under the Pakistan Justice and Rights Initiative (PJRI) in collaboration with the LUMS Law Alumni Association, conducted a community engagement session at the Government Graduate College for Women, Jharababad.

The session focused on educating young women about their constitutional rights, digital privacy, inheritance laws, and protection against harassment, aiming to strengthen legal awareness among students from an under-resourced background.

Fizza Maqsood successfully created an interactive and supportive environment. Through simple explanations and encouragement, students gradually became more engaged and confident in expressing their views.

By the conclusion of the session, participants were actively involved in discussion, asking questions and showing genuine interest in their rights. The session also inspired two students to explore the Asma Jahangir Human Rights Fellowship Program further.

This fellowship-led initiative reflects a meaningful step toward grassroots legal awareness and youth empowerment through direct community engagement.
